THE EARTH ON THE TURTLE'S BACK
I really enjoyed reading The Earth on Turtle's Back because it had a great moral to it. The moral was to not undermine the underdogs and don't doubt someone on their size. I liked how the muskrat was very small and it was a female and the stereotype of females is that they aren't as strong as males so this myth contradicted it. Personification played a big role because all the animals were talking but as most of us know animals don't actually talk to us. Its crazy to think about how myths like this one were told long ago by native people and were remembered as if it were something natural. Nowadays if we have to memorize things such as I don't know a poem like the Laughing Heart it seems harder but to think about it they used to memorize things that were much harder to memorize back then.
