A Memory Master?

I did NOT understand what Mnemonics was or what it really had to do with memorization. I don't really enjoy reading about history so the background about the Mnemonics didn't really get my attention so I wasn't as interested in learning about it that much. But the different techniques and tricks that I read about seem somewhat really close to the things I do when I have to remember things. Such as trying to memorize things in chunks or groups. Also memorizing names or anything else I usually try to connect things that remind me of them. Such as phone numbers as well its true that people don't usually memorize phone numbers all together they say them and memorize them in chunks.
